Positive Spaces Initiative

Client: The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants

This campaign attempts to fill the gaps in services to newcomer LGBTQ2* community members by educating newcomer agencies on how to make their spaces and services LTBTQ2* inclusive. The result is the positive spaces initiative, a campaign we produced in collaboration with OCASI in 2009.

The first wave of the campaign was so successful that in 2010, OCASI moved forward on a second phase — an ally-initiative — producing a new series of public service announcements and training modules encouraging settlement workers to identify and act as allies to services users and co-workers who identify as LGBTQ2*.
