Speaking Rights is a national civic engagement program for youth across Canada.
Through the program, youth have the opportunity to form community action projects that can be arts-based, in print, digital, or in the form of an event, workshop, campaign, mentorship, or alliance. Each project can speak to any of the critical issues of: gender equality, mental health, healthy relationships, newcomer and refugee experiences, reconciliation, discrimination, youth space, violence and bullying, rights and responsibilities, identity, and self-esteem.
We facilitated a workshop in Montreal at the Equitas national gathering and we worked with Equitas to design a website, create an identity (a kinetic logo), and resources such as toolkits and a communication action project guide in both English and French.
