Black CAP is Canada’s largest Black specific AIDS service organization working to respond to the threat of HIV and AIDS in Toronto’s African, Caribbean, and Black communities since 1989. Black CAP offers culturally relevant outreach, prevention and support services for people infected with, affected by, or at risk of contracting HIV amidst social barriers like HIV stigma, racism, homophobia and poverty.
Black CAP needed a sexual health resource for newcomer men who have sex with men (MSM) to address their increased risk of HIV as well as other sexual health issues, as well as to address the psycho-social, environmental, and systemic challenges associated with immigration.
The Public worked with Black CAP to design a multi-lingual resource guide that would lend an authoritative yet conversational tone while keeping it discreet. For display, the guide is wrapped in a removable “belly band” (a partial dust jacket) offering the option for a non-descriptive cover.
