The Public was recently featured in the new book CAPS LOCK: How capitalism took hold of graphic design and how to escape from it by Ruben Pater. The book features six radical design collectives trying to challenge capitalism and working towards alternative economic systems with design, community, and reciprocity. Various ways educators, hackers, engineers, activists, etc. are navigating the role of design in perpetuating capitalism and ways to reimagine design as part of world beyond capitalism.
