Call for Art and Articles: Certain Days: Freedom for Political Prisoners Calendar 2022
Deadline to submit: June 14, 2021
The Certain Days: Freedom for Political Prisoners Calendar collective (certaindays.org) will be releasing their 21st calendar this coming autumn. The 2022 theme is “Creating a New World in the Shell of the Old,” looking at collective approaches at creating a more inclusive and fulfilling world through mutual effort. They are looking for 12 pieces of art and 12 short essays to feature in the calendar, which hangs in more than 6,000 homes, workplaces, prison cells, and community spaces around the world. Contributors are encouraged to submit both new and existing work. They especially seek submissions from people in prison or jail, so please forward to any prison-based artists and writers. Fundraiser for New Studio & Gallery for Native Arts Society
Native Arts Society & Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction has officially secured a space for their new Arts studio/gallery as of June 2021! They are currently fundraising to cover costs of renovations, rent, operating costs and art supplies. They are a grassroots collective and do not rely on government funding or oil and gas sponsored grants. Your support will go directly to creating a vibrant and flourishing Indigenous-led Arts Studio and Gallery right in the downtown core close to Moss Park. Find more info and donate here!
